Be ready for more fair-tastic events at the 2025 South Florida Fair, January 17 – February 2!

Meet Adriane Hill. She is the new Agribusiness & Community Relations Assistant. However, she isn’t new to the South Florida Fair. She actually has been around for 17 years and spent

many years returning “seasonally” to work at our Fright Nights event! She also has experience working at the reception desk, in midway sales, the vendor and credentials offices and in the Agriculture department. We’re glad she’s back and part of the AGriBusiness Team!

Did you know the Fair recognizes individuals for their dedicated service? In April, three volunteers received top honors in their respective areas:

Sandy Smith - Agriculture
Ron McElhone - Guest Services
James Danford - Yesteryear Village

Plans are underway to feature Agricultural Showcases again during the 2025 South Florida Fair!

The Premium Book is posted on our website. Please review it for new policies and procedures. The AG team continues to enhance the AGriBusiness Department and will keep you updated through our website: www.southfloridafair.com under News & Updates. Livestock exhibitors are also encouraged to join the South Florida Fair’s Exhibitor Facebook Page. This is a private page.

The Scholarship application process is now open! The South Florida Fair annually awards scholarships to deserving individuals. The submission deadline is October 18, 2024. Please visit our website for the application and the criteria required.

IMPORTANT DATES: Online entries ONLY; no paper entries accepted

Entries opened for Steers on August 1 and will close at 11:59 pm on September 10
Entries for Pullets: will open September 3; to close at 11:59 on September 30
Entries for Market hogs: will open September 16; to close on 11:59 on October 16
The Sell-a-Bration Of Champions Youth Livestock Market Auction at the South Florida Fair is a terminal sale for all steers and hogs sold.

MANDATORY WORK DAYS: December 14, 2024; January 4 & 11, 2025; times for all work days are 9AM – 2 PM; attendees must RSVP. There will be a monetary deduction if at least one workday is not attended.

MANDATORY Steer weigh-in: September 12, 2024 from 5 PM – 7 PM at the Okeechobee Livestock Market. At-home ear tagging is not permitted.

Hog tag-in: (optional) Saturday, October 19, 9 – 11 AM on the fairgrounds.

The Youth Market Clinic and Ethics class is Saturday, November 2 from 9 AM-noon

at the South Florida Fairgrounds. All exhibitors (ages 8 – 18) showing an animal at the South Florida Fair are required to have completed the Ethics training workshop or have a current ethics number before January 1, 2025. For details and registration: floridastatefair.com/ethics. Pullet/poultry exhibitors ages 5-7 are exempt from ethics training.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services inspectors office is further enforcing standing regulations for the upcoming Fair season. Ear tag numbers and official identification numbers must match for animals being exhibited. For further information, visit www.fdacs.gov.
