1.- Can I compete in more than one category?
No. Because of the tremendous amount of people that come into audition and a limited availability of competition slots we cannot accommodate the demand.

2.- Do I have to sing the same song or songs at the competition as I sang for auditions?
No

3.- Can I sing more than one song at the audition?
Yes. You can sing a medley or grouping of different songs as long as they meet the 3 minute audition requirement. If you go over that time limit, your scores will be lowered.

4.- If I am in a group and the ages have both kids (6-12) and teens (13-19) or adults, what age category would I fall under?
Mixed groups are automatically put into the category of the oldest person in the group.

 

5.- What type of music should I perform?
We are looking for all types of music genres. Pop, Rap, Country, Classical, Hip-Hop, Rock, Acoustic, Accapella,etc.

6.- Can I audition more than once?
No. Since we have so many people auditioning for the STARZ production, we cannot accommodate more than one audition per person, per age, per category each year. We want everyone to have the opportunity to audition.

7.- How many contestants are chosen for the STARZ competition?
Depending on scheduling, we can accommodate between 160-200 performers.

8.- What happens after the audition?
All talent is reviewed by the producer, who then begins the task of formulating the talent selection over the next few weeks.

9.- When will I be notified if I have been selected?
You will be notified by mail if you did or did not make the cut by December 15th. You will receive a letter which will include your performance day and time, check in information, directions, etc.

10.- How are the auditions scheduled?
You will be given a 1 hour block of time to check in and will be taken on a first come/first served basis. Groups will need to checked in by the director only after all participants have arrived All auditioners are to come at their assigned times only and will not be taken if you arrive early.

11.- How long will I be at the audition?
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time, so we can transition all of our talent in the time scheduled. We try to maintain our scheduled time during your one hour time slot, however sometimes there is a back-up due to technical difficulties, load-in and out of bands, etc., so please come prepared to read, listen to music, etc.

12.- Can a parent come into the audition with me?
No. This is a closed audition and open only for the talent. Talent under the age of 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian at check in time, and may stay in waiting area during the audition.

13.- Can my audition be videotaped?
No. All cameras, videorecorders or taping devices are strictly prohibited.

14.- Should we come in costume and make-up?
It is always a good thing to present yourself in as a professional a manner as possible so the producer can get a feel for the total presentation.
