College Scholarship Fund Information Fact Sheet

Our purpose is to encourage young people, who might
not otherwise have an opportunity, to pursue a college
education. These awards will be made annually. They
may be renewed each year, upon request and receipt of
a current transcript, for a maximum of three (3) succeeding
years by approval of the Scholarship Commitee.
The South Florida Fair and Palm Beach County Expositions,
Inc., will award the following scholarships to qualified
applicants selected by the Scholarship Committee:

Criteria:
1. Applicant must be a permanent resident of Florida
and reside in one of the counties served by the South
Florida Fair (Broward, Hendry, Martin, Okeechobee or
Palm Beach).
2. Additional credit will be given if the applicant is or has been a participant
in the South Florida Fair’s activities. This may be in judging events,
exhibits, or any other activity acceptable to the Scholarship
Committee.
3. The scholarship must be used at, and must be paid to, an accredited institution
of higher education approved by the Scholarship Committee.
4. The award will be presented during the annual South Florida Fair in January.
5. Membership in 4H or FFA is NOT required.
6. The selection committee may require a personal interview with the applicant.
7. Advertising and promoting agencies, sponsors and their immediate family members
and/ or
those living in the same household are ineligible to apply.
8. Two (2) Essays are required as follows:
Essay No. 1: “Why I would like to win this scholarship.” - (200 words
or less)
Essay No. 2: “My educational experience at the South Florida Fair” or
another topic
pertaining to the Fair. - (200 words or less)
9. Two (2) letters of recommendation on your behalf are required.
