RABBIT CHECK IN: Thursday, January 17, 2008 Noon - 8:00 p.m.
RABBIT CHECK OUT: Sunday, February 3, 2008 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Judging is scheduled for Saturday, January 19th

The South Florida Fair Livestock Show Superintendent is in charge of the Rabbit Exhibit at the South Florida Fair.
**ATTENTION YOUTH: You MUST have attended the MANDATORY YOUTH LIVESTOCK SHOW ETHICS AND ANIMAL CARE WORKSHOP in order to show an animal at the 2008 South Florida Fair.Click here for more information

RULES:
1. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE MADE ON THE OFFICIAL ENTRY FORMS provided in the South Florida Fair Premium Book.
Mail REGISTRATION Forms to the above address. NO PHONE ENTRIES will be accepted. There are only 300 cages available on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis. (Photo copies may be made if needed.)
2. Rabbits will be checked in at the Fairgrounds (Rabbit Tent) from NOON until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2008. Arrive with your rabbits not later than 7:00 p.m. to allow time for health check and paperwork. (All rabbits must be contained in boxes or wire carriers.)
3. All rabbits must have been OWNED BY THE EXHIBITOR for at least 60 days prior to the Fair. A cage limit of 20 cages is allowed to be entered by a family.
4. All rabbits will be checked for signs of disease or sickness. No diseased rabbit will be allowed in the show.
The Tent Supervisor or assistants may decline or reject any rabbits that do not meet health requirements.
Automatic disqualifications include: runny eyes or nose, matted and heavily soiled fur below the tail, ear or fur mites, excessively long nails. We suggest you check them for the above prior to the Fair.
5. A maximum of three 10-12 week old litter mates may be shown in one cage. These rabbits will be counted as one entry. There will be no does with litters accepted.
6. NO RABBITS UNDER 10 WEEKS OLD WILL BE ACCEPTED. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!!
7. It is understood that the South Florida Fair, supervisors, and assistant(s) will take every reasonable precaution for the safeguarding of the exhibits, and owner assumes all responsibility for any accidents, loss or damage, that may occur. The supervisor and assistant(s) will see that all animals are secured in display cages and fed and watered during the Fair.
8. Cages can be displayed for sale, and the owner will be responsible for putting them up at night.
9. The Fair will not be responsible for animals after check-out time. Animals will be released to the exhibitor or someone representing him and bearing the appropriate claim checks. Animals not claimed by 6:00 p.m. will be subject to a $5.00 boarding fee or loss of ownership.
10. The right is reserved to refuse any entry of any exhibitor that does not abide by the rules.
11. There will be no mixed breed rabbits allowed for breeders or family breeders. Non breeder youth exempt.
12. Early removal of exhibits with the exception of animals sold shall result in removal of all ribbons and premium monies earned.
13. It is strongly discouraged for an exhibotr to bring a household/ family pet to exhibit. The rabbit tent can be extremely loud and may cause unnecessary trauma

*This award is only given if five or more rabbits represent that breed in the show, Youth and Open.

RABBIT SHOWMANSHIP

1. YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR SHOWMANSHIP AT CHECK-IN.
2. Rabbit must be entered in South Florida Fair Rabbit Show and be owned by exhibitor.
3. Exhibitor will be judged on a point scale based on handling, knowledge and appearance.
4. There will be several age groups depending on the number signing up to participate. The highest score of each age group will receive a $25.00 premium. Premiums will be awarded in each age group.
5. Youth Rabbit Show will be held on Saturday, January 19th. All rabbits must be worthy of the breed according to the ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association - Book of Standard). Youth exhibitors will only be permitted to enter one breed and must be assigned on the day of check-in. Youth Showmanship must also be registered at this time. NO EXCEPTIONS ALLOWED.
6. Youth Show will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 1:00 p.m. and Youth Showmanship will immediately follow. *It is the parents responsibility to have the child and rabbit to the judge table on time.
7. Adults will be allowed to have 1 rabbit judged following the youth show.

* PICK UP OF RABBITS SOLD AT FAIR WILL BE ON SUNDAYS AS PATRONS ARE LEAVING THE GROUNDS.
