RULES
1. ALL HORSES MUST COMPLY WITH FLORIDA STATE RULES FOR ADMISSION OF ANIMALS FOR EXHIBITIONS, 5C-4.008. SEE GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS - ALL EXHIBITORS.
2. Booths are available to horse-related organizations on a first-come, first-serve basis. These booths will be assigned after all requests have been submitted to Horse Committee.
In the case of more requests than booths available,a waiting list will be developed with consideration givento these clubs being first on the following year’s list. The purpose of these booths is to promote specific breeds or organizations for equestrian benefit and/or education of the public. Dismantling prior to designated time, as set by Horse Committee, will jeopardize club participation in the future.
3. Stalls are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Horse information card must be on each stall relating to the animal in that stall. Card must include breed, owner, club affiliation, and emergency information.
4. Only exhibitors with completed signed release forms are permitted to handle or work any horse exhibiting on the fairgrounds. Anyone found in violation of this rule will be excused from the fairgrounds, and any future activities in the same show year.
5. Exhibitors are responsible for acquiring exhibitor passes and parking passes. Exhibitor passes will not be issued until a completed and signed release form is submitted to Horse Committee.
6. Vehicles towing horse trailers are eligible for parking passes and may park in the designated trailer parking area.
7. Vehicles not towing a horse trailer, with or without a parking pass, must park in vehicle parking area.
8. There will be ABSOLUTELY no riding, racing or standing of horses, mounted or not, in or around horse stall area, spectator area, inside show pavilion, midway or entertainment area , or other areas that will endanger the horse, rider, or public.
9. NO member of the fairgoing public is permitted to ride or handle any horse on the fairgrounds.
10. No riding of horses with halter or rope unless part of an exhibition.
11. There will be no mistreatment of animals allowed. Proper action will be taken by Horse Committee against violators.
12. You must remain with your horse while it is in the horse pavilion area, unless arrangements are made by you and approved by Horse Committee.
13. Stalls in horse barn must be cleaned regularly and as soon as your horse is removed at the end of your show. Aisles of barn and pavilion must be kept clean and clear of obstacles as required by fire safety.
14. No horse with visible signs of illness, fever, lameness, or unhealed injuries shall be exhibited. Only horses in good general health shall be allowed to exhibit. Horse must be in show condition.
15. Proper show equipment is required to include footwear (no sneakers, sandals, or tennis shoes, only heeled shoes are acceptable), saddles, head stalls, and proper dress (no halter tops, tube tops, etc.), at all times. Speed events are NOT exempt.
16. Youth participating in the fair must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult while in the horse pavilion area. Youth 12 years and younger must have proper safety helmet and footwear to exhibit. The parents or guardian will be held accountable for the action of the youth entrusted in their care.
17. While performing, announcing, or manning a booth, or while having contact as an exhibitor with the fairgoing public, an exhibitor may not possess or consume alcohol or other intoxicating substances, or be intoxicated. This rule will be strictly enforced and violations will be dealt with immediately.
18. Horses must be under control at all times.
19. NO DOGS will be allowed in or around horses, exhibitors, or the public.
20. All clubs or groups participating in the fair MUST be involved in the set-up and take down of the horse exhibit and all related activities. Each group will be assigned parking, opening, and closing responsibilities. This will be assigned by horse Committee on a rotating basis.
21. EXHIBITORS MUST ABIDE BY ANY AND ALL SPECIAL RULES POSTED IN THE HORSE PAVILION AREA.
22. Any violation of these rules and/or any conduct dangerous to people or horses will subject the individual to immediate dismissal from the fairgrounds and jeopardize any future activities in the horse exhibit. Any unethical action is considered a violation of these rules.
